“Textures and Depth: Unveiling Perspectives & Identities” William T. Kemper Art Gallery Reception

  • K-State Student Union | William T. Kemper Art Gallery | First Foor 918 North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Manhattan United States (map)

Crissi Rice - native, wife, mother, artist, social worker and natural hair enthusiast - brings her artistic focal point about the history of women and expressing different techniques through their hair to tell a story. Her method of choice is mix-medium within the genre of contemporary art.

Rice’s exhibit “Textures and Depth: Unveiling Perspectives & Identities” encourages viewers to dive deeper, to move past the immediate visual impact and uncover the intricate stories and emotions woven into each piece.

The display highlights the striking contrast between surface beauty and hair, and the profound narratives hidden beneath. It emphasizes the importance of looking beyond appearances, encouraging patrons to recognize that true understanding often demands a closer, more thoughtful examination, as every soul carries a story waiting to be uncovered.
