Hosted by Student Governing Association (SGA) and Union Program Council (UPC). This event will have limited in-person attendance as well as streamed LIVE via ZOOM, with opportunities for engagement through an online interactive component.

What does T.O.H.S.S (pronounced TOSS) stand for?

This acronym stands for the rhetoric structure by which topics will be analyzed in this event. It draws on formal debating structures to ensure the topics are appropriately explored.

Topicality: Is the argument within the scope of the topic?

Obstacle: Is the problem inherent and unlikely to resolves itself in the status quo now?

Harms: Why does this matter, what damage is it causing?

Significance: Define the scope of your harms.

Solvency: Does the plan you have introduced solve the problem at hand?
