Box City

  • Waters Quad, Kansas State University (map)

The purpose of this event is to help raise awareness for homelessness within the Manhattan community and abroad. Participants will build shelters out of cardboard boxes to sleep in overnight. Once assembled, participants can create care kits with toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, chapstick, and more, which will be donated to the Manhattan Emergency Shelter. Care kit items will be provided. Guest speakers from the Manhattan Emergency Shelter and ShelterBox will speak to homelessness in our community.

At 8:30 am on Saturday, there will be bagels and juice for participants to enjoy while reflecting on their experience during Box City.
